This process yields fragrant resin and dark heartwood, sought after for its scent. Agarwood also holds cultural significance, being used in traditional medicine and incense, particularly in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Due to its rarity and the intensive harvesting process, agarwood products are often expensive.
